The ME 850’s produced in this production were fitted with a larger Energy Storage Matrix. This special edition ME 850 will not be manufactured again.

Differences reported by users who own Dunteck loudspeakers were a little more enthusiastic than expected. The standard ME 850 is powered by the largest and most sophisticated Power Supply in its class. The Special Edition ME 850 is fueled by over 450,000uF of Energy Storage.

The sonic improvements were expected to be marginal even with the most demanding Speaker Systems. The positive responses would appear to be a result of the 50% reduction in Power Supply Impedance. There are 92 individual Capacitors wired in parallel – each one dividing the work equally rather than a single dependency and connection point. This equals the ME 1400/1500 in power supply sophistication.

ME have pioneered the use of multiple Capacitor Storage Matrixes beginning with the ME 50 in 1977 and the ME 850 special edition has clearly extended this trademark design philosophy to the extent that it can boast the highest known Capacity amplifier in production.
