This upgrade is new, and is based on the the current ME 850s. The original 245,000uF capacitance will increase to almost double (~0.5 Farads). While I believe the differences in performance are small because of the already substantial standard capacitance, these small differences may become important to those that have speaker systems that are extremely difficult or resolving. The entire energy storage matrix is replaced with new capacitors, circuit boards and 8 bridge rectifiers.
